BT Broadband customers top 5 million


Broadband, home phone and digital TV provider, BT, recently announced their expanding broadband customer base which topped 5 million.

 

The report is part of the latest financial results by the broadband giant and states that over five million customers have signed up for BT’s broadband packages.

 

The financial results highlights this figure in the third quarter of the media giant’s financial year. The company has reported net additions of 102,000 in the three month period with 42 percent additions from BT retail.

 

The digital TV provider also reported the increasing customer base of BT Vision, which is around 451,000 at the end of 2009. The average number of views each month per subscriber has risen by more then 40 percent.

 

According to Ian Livingston, chief executive of the company, the results highlighted progress.

 

“There is still a lot more to be done but our commitment to improved customer service and cost transformation is starting to deliver results and freeing up resources to invest in our future,” he explained.

 

“In particular, we are one of Europe’s largest investors in super-fast fibre-based broadband and this will bring huge benefits to our customers and the UK.”
